About Teacher Chef Goi

Goi is the founder of ThaiIsFun and a Teacher-Chef with over 28 years of experience in education and cross-cultural learning. Since 1997, she has worked within international and multilingual educational communities in both Thailand and the United States. She holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Educational Psychology and Guidance from Chiang Mai University. Her foundation in education shapes every ThaiIsFun experience — creating environments that are welcoming, empowering, and joyful.
Inspired by her deep love of Thai cuisine and culture, Goi founded ThaiIsFun in 2008. She began by teaching traditional Thai cooking classes, thoughtfully adapting techniques learned from Thai chefs to suit diverse palates and modern lifestyles. In 2015, she reimagined ThaiIsFun, evolving it into interactive culinary experiences that blend authentic flavors, cultural storytelling, and hands-on learning — gatherings where education, laughter, and meaningful connection come together around the table.
At its heart, ThaiIsFun reflects Goi’s enduring belief that food is more than nourishment — it is connection, culture, care, and a living legacy meant to be shared.
Pastry Chef Rochelle
At just three years old, Rochelle reached for a cookie at a bakery counter and knew she wanted to become a “bakery lady.” Years later, she pursued that dream by attending pastry school in San Francisco and building a career in bakeries, restaurants, hotels, catering, and a country club throughout the Bay Area and Monterey County.
For nearly 30 years, she combined her love of people and food by teaching pastry and culinary skills at the Center for Employment Training in San Jose, mentoring and inspiring aspiring professionals.
Today, Chef Rochelle shares her warmth and expertise through freelance work, including working with ThaiIsFun — continuing to spread sweetness wherever she goes.
